My Sunday started simply: a quick trip to the shop. I spotted a bunch of flowers, reduced from ยฃ12 to just ยฃ3, a small, pleasant surprise.
But at the till, the system threw up a firm 'no'. "Can't be sold," the screen flashed. In that moment, I felt a familiar flicker of disappointment, that small frustration when a little piece of joy is blocked by an impersonal process.
Yet, I waited patiently. The cashier, without a word, overrode the issue, gave me a warm smile, and gestured for me to proceed. It was a simple act of human kindness, a moment where a person chose grace over a rigid rule.
It wasn't until I got home that I saw the final, beautiful detail: the flowers weren't on the receipt. They were a complete gift.
That feeling, the unexpected blessing that came after a brief moment of patience, was profound. It wasn't about the money; it was the gentle reminder that sometimes, when we patiently allow the universe to clear its own technical difficulties, the reward is so much richer than we initially planned.

I'd love to hear about your weekend gifts! What small, positive moment or unexpected joy came your way?
